The Korean War
25 June 1950 – 27 July 1953
The Korean War (25th June 1950 to 27th July 1953) resulted following an invasion by communist North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) of South Korea (Republic of Korea). With North Korea being advised and supplied by the Soviet Union it was inevitable that the United States and the United Nations would engage. Hostilities lasted three years resulting in the establishment of a demilitarised zone.
