The Zulu War

11 January – 4 July 1879

The Zulu kingdom was a new nation, formed by the spirit and the will by one person, Shaka.

It was a warlike nation, feared by their tribal neighbours, but they stood in the way of British plans to expand its influence into other African states.

The British under the guise of being offended by border incursions and border disputes, gave the Zulus an ultimatum to disband their army. This they couldn't do, so Britain went to war with the Zulu nation.
